It’s that time of the year again! Local residents will be dressing up as Santa to run/walk a 2k or a 5k trail in support of their chosen charity, Martin’s House Children’s Hospice.
The annual South Milford Santa Dash is set to be held on Saturday, 23rd December at 11 am. The dash will be starting at South Milford park and finishing at The Swan in Milford. The 5k loop will take dashers through Milford and Lumby – but don’t worry if 5k is too daunting for you, the organisers have announced a shorter route to ensure everyone can get involved!
At the Santa Dash, there will be a celebrity starter, Elly Fiorentini, the presenter from Radio York. And thanks to the Elmet Lions who have teamed up with the dash this year, Santa will be visiting dashers in his sleigh and will be waiting at the finish line to meet the children before he flys back to the North Pole.
The Santa Dash is free to participate, but make sure to bring your pocket change as the charity donations to the Children’s Hospice will come from buckets that will be distributed before, during and after the event on the day. Participants are encouraged to come dressed in comfy Santa attire!
This is a community event that has been set up by local elves. If you’d like to get involved and help with the family, festive South Milford Santa Dash, the next planning meeting will be taking place November 1st at 8:30 pm at The Sawn, Milford.
