Due to cuts in funding, Sherburn Library is going to become a Community Library with effect from 1st April 2017. The Library is an excellent asset to the village, and is used regularly by many residents, so it will be a great shame if it has to close. To ensure it stays open, the library need a team of volunteers, each willing to give a few hours a week or fortnight, to help with the running of the building.
The library are appealing for people to contribute to your community and make new friends by joining their team. Full training and support will be provided. Training will start in January with the Trust opening the Library on Friday afternoons as a trial before we start in April.
If you wish to get involved or hear more then come along to one of the open days –
Tuesday 1st November 14:00 -16:00
Friday 4th November 10:00 -12:00
Saturday 5th November 10:00 -12:00
You can also leave your information at the library, and someone will be in touch.
