The Clean Driver Scheme focuses on targeting litter hotspots, with its first focus being Sherburn Industrial Estate.
The scheme is in conjunction with the council who are working with local businesses to ensure that drivers are disposing of their waste in a correct manner. Businesses who sign upto the scheme receive a free tidy package for inside their vehicles, which includes litter bags to put their rubbish in, reusable coffee cups, and pocket ash trays in order to encourage rubbish disposal.
Those who take part will also be given free stickers for their windows.
Companies who have already signed upto the scheme include Cromwell Polythene Ltd, John King Chains and Cranswick Gourmet Bacon, who are all based on the Sherburn Industrial Estate.
Aswell as signing upto the scheme, Cromwell polythene Ltd and Cranswick Gourmet Bacon have both kindly funded new litter bins for the industrial estate.
