Elmet Lions’ Santa Sleigh Raises Over £4,000

Elmet Lions are part of the Lions International community that includes a group of volunteers who give their time to help and support the local community (Sherburn, South Milford, Barkston Ash, Hillam, Monk Fryston, Ulleskelf, Saxton, Church Fenton and Burton Salmon) on many projects.

Over Christmas, Elmet Lions raised £4,864.68 in total from their Santa Sleigh project, which saw Santa and his Elves visit local neighbourhoods to bring the festive cheer to local residents.

Ann Hudson, a member of Elmet Lions said:

Elmet Lions would like to thank everyone who has supported us over the past year and in particular, the period up to Christmas with our first Toy Appeal, the Santa Sleigh run and the Santa Dash. All the events that we have held have been very successful and we in return, have been able to support many deserving causes and projects in Sherburn in Elmet, South Milford and the surrounding villages.  We are at present, only a small club and the help given to us by some of the area’s groups and individuals has been very much appreciated, especially with the sleigh. Without them, we could not have done it.
