Sponsor Pecan Deluxe Candy says the Sherburn Craft and Food Festival has all the great ingredients for another Bank Holiday weekend extravaganza of baking, beer and fun, with well-known comedian, singer and TV entertainer Tommy Cannon – of Cannon and Ball fame – the curtain-raiser to this year’s three-day event.
Rocking on with Tommy at the festival in Eversley Park on August 24-26 will be Great British Bake Off (GBBO) star, Yorkshire’s own Karen Wright. Karen’s show-stopping cooking demos at 12pm and 2pm on Saturday August 24 will feature Pecan Deluxe’s gold coated chocolate popping candy and wafer pieces to “bling up” a sweet bake, and praline pecans for her savoury creation.
Returning by popular demand is GBBO’s Howard Middleton, who will be reprising his role leading a team of well-known chefs giving away their best tips and secrets. Howard specialises in gluten-free bakery and will be incorporating ingredients from the food tailor such as lemon-coloured sugars and praline almonds to decorate delicious fresh lemon and almond cakes with elderflower frosting.
In its third year back in Eversley Park, the expanding Sherburn showpiece is becoming a regular ‘go to’ spectacle for visitors with the engaging and insightful cookery demos the highlight of the show, which will also feature for the first time a beer festival offering ticket-holders a range of lagers, ales, wines, spirits and soft drinks to quench their thirst.
With over 100 exhibits and attractions, there will be something for everyone, including live entertainment, children’s activities, a funfair, a vintage car and bike display, as well as Sherburn’s Party in the Park afterwards for those who can last the pace.
Pecan Deluxe Business Development Manager, Jenny Baillie, said: “We’re delighted to be once again sponsoring the Sherburn Craft and Food Festival. Pecan Deluxe is totally committed to supporting regional events and this one is especially close to our hearts. As sponsor we can help to provide exposure to regional businesses hosting stands, as well as a great day or days out for visitors.
“It’s great to have Tommy opening the show, while we’re thrilled that such incredible GBBO talent will be demonstrating the versatility of Pecan Deluxe inclusions. We welcome Karen for the first time and of course Howard is back creating his wonderful gluten-free bakery treats.
“The festival is going from strength to strength and as tickets are extremely good value and include all on-site activities such as the cookery demos, I would urge people not to miss out and pre-book your discounted tickets today.”
