  • During August NB: no evening services at Sherburn during August, ie no Sunday evening service, no Wednesday midweek Eucharists, and no Baptism Preparation. Also no choir practice or bell ringing practice at Sherburn, and no Morning Prayer at Aberford on Tuesdays.  However, there will be Barkston Village Lunch this Monday, 7 August.
  • Friday 25 August, 7.30pm, Barkston church: Concert featuring Anne & Jeff Barnhart, direct from the Boston Spa Jazz Festival. Tickets £10, including refreshments, from Martin Otter, Gwyneth Stephenson or Peter Burgis.
  • Sherburn Craft & Food Festival, August Bank Holiday weekend (Sat 26, Sun 27 & Mon 28 August: Sherburn church will be open as part of the festival.  Volunteers for stewards in church are needed please – there is a sign-up list at the back of church.
  • Looking ahead….. Saturday 25 November: Sherburn Christmas Fair and Grand Prize Draw.  Helpers, and donations for raffle prizes etc will be needed.
  • Mondays 7.30pm: Sherburn Ecumenical Home Fellowship – no meeting now until September
  • Sherburn Church-Sitting: more sitters always needed to help keep the church open as much as possible.  Please contact Brenda Thornton, roger.thornton2@btopenworld.com or 01977 684168.
