Selby & District Rail Users Group are Looking for New Members

The Group was set up in the 1980’s and operates as a non-party political pressure Group and campaigns to improve and defend rail services both passenger and freight on behalf of Rail Users in the Selby and District areas.

Since established it has continued to put forward views on all rail issues which may affect our Selby and  District rail users to Politicians, Civil Servants, Executives and Managers of train operating companies & Network Rail. The Group regularly attends stakeholder meetings with train company representatives.

Currently the Group is lobbying in, in association with the Town Council representative and local North Yorkshire Councillor for the Castleford – York service to stop additionally at Sherburn in Elmet, and for improved facilities for disabled and elderly passengers.

Our meetings have had in attendance, Service Operating Managers, MPs, Local Councillors and the Managing Director of Hull trains, which provides direct services from Hull to London via Selby who will be in attendance at the meeting on 11th April 2024.

The Group has members with former experience of the Rail Industry.

We are looking for members to join and support this Group, more numbers equals more voices and will make a big difference. 

Meetings are held at Selby Community Centre Scott Road Selby YO8 4BL

2nd Thursday of each month with attendance possible both in person or by ZOOM

Membership £10 per annum
