What an occasion it was this week at Sherburn High as their prestigious annual sports presentation evening was held to celebrate the success of over eighty students and along with their families, the hall was packed for the event. Students were nominated in numerous categories including commitment to extra-curricular clubs and teams, outstanding levels of participation in core PE, outstanding effort at GCSE, sports ambassadors and Olympic spirit to name just a few.
They were proud to welcome ex Sherburn High student Tom Lineham who plays professional Rugby League for Warrington Wolves. Tom spoke candidly of his professional life and was truly inspirational to Sherburn High School’s young sports people. PE Teacher and event organiser Rachel Cale commented ‘It was a fantastic evening and wonderful to see so many students who are dedicated to sport receiving their just rewards for their efforts. We are also extremely grateful to Tom who gave up his time to present the awards.’
