Volunteer Awards 2019 – Call for nominations

Following the success of last years’ awards, the 100 Club are pleased to announce that the nomination period for the Sherburn Community Volunteer Awards 2019 will be open from 9am Friday 8th March 2019.

You will be able to nominate volunteers for one of the categories listed below.

Please note, those nominated must be:
– unpaid and classed as a volunteer.
– their voluntary service must be within the confines of Sherburn In Elmet.
– those nominated must be able to attend the community awards presentations once again to be held at The Swan PH. Sherburn. 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Friday 19th July 2019.

(Please note due to some local groups wanting to nominate their volunteers for awards we are avoiding using other community buildings for transparency reasons).

Application forms can be obtained in the first instance by contacting David Brook by emailing mrdavidbrook@yahoo.co.uk

Nominations to be submitted by email no later than midnight on Friday 12th April 2019.

A panel of judges will then meet within 6 weeks to discuss nominations.

You are advised to provide written evidence to support your nomination. Suggested word count, 500 words. Please ensure those nominated are happy to attend the presentation as this is mandatory for sponsorship reasons.

We currently have 10 categories of award, 9 of these have a sponsor. In the event that we cannot find a sponsor for the tenth category we refuse the right not to continue with that category.

Please note the winners will receive a glass award. Runners up to receive an award (certificate).

The categories are as follows.

Sports volunteer of the year sponsored by Sherburn Bears ARLFC.

Volunteer of the year sponsored by Supply me LTD.

Youth Volunteer of the year sponsored by Sherburn Community Gymnastics Club.

Trustee / Committee volunteer of the year sponsored by B&S Flooring.

Community Project of the year sponsored by David Brook.

Overcoming adversity award sponsored by the 100 Club.

Unsung hero sponsored by Really good branding.

Lifetime achievement award sponsored by Cromwell Polythene.

Carer of the Year – Sponsor required.

School hero of the Year award sponsored by Compass Martial Arts.
