As a result of next week’s industrial action by ASLEF members, TransPennine Express are unable to operate any services on any of their routes on Wednesday 31st January. However, there will be additional disruption between Monday 29th January through to Tuesday 6th February due to the ASLEF overtime ban, meaning some of the services we expect to operate might be affected at short notice. On those dates customers are strongly advised to check the status of their service before they travel.
Amended timetables have been published and can be found on the dedicated page on our website which also provides the latest information in relation to this strike action: https://www.tpexpress.co.uk/travel-updates/strike-action. In summary:
Due to the ASLEF industrial action on Tuesday 31st January they are unable to operate any services on any of their routes. Disruption is also likely on days before and after strike action. You are advised to plan carefully as services may start later and finish earlier than usual.
During the ASLEF overtime ban from 29th January – 6th February they plan to run our normal timetable, however the action short of a strike is likely to cause significant disruption to journeys and some services may be altered or cancelled on the night before or morning of your journey.
Refunds will be available to those who have booked travel on a strike day and cannot change to an alternative date. With regret, bikes will not be permitted onboard TPE services on days when strike action is being taken. Some stations on the network may also be closed on strike days and rail replacement transport cannot be provided.
