As part of the village centre revamp last year, a sculpture was designed and built to place near the old HSBC bank in the village centre. After issues with the stone that delayed construction, the council are now pleased to announce that the sculpture is complete and will be put in place on Tuesday 14th February – a great new feature to our village.
The sculpture depicts a Fairey Swordfish, a World War 2 aircraft which was built at Sherburn and which played a crucial role in the sinking of the Bismarck.
