Supported by David Skaith, Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, receiving funding from York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Sherburn in Elmet has recently seen a significant increase in housing development leading to a rise population, it is expected that this growth will continue.

It is a major employment hub with strategic logistics and industrial sites; currently providing employment for over 3,000 people. The town benefits from two railway stations, offering good links to Leeds, York, Selby, Sheffield and Hull however there is a need for improved bus services and connectivity to support access to jobs, services, education, and recreation, especially for those without access to a car.

The town has a varied retail offer including supermarkets and independent shops but maintaining a vibrant high street is a continuing challenge.  Social and community infrastructure has struggled to keep pace with recent development.
