Plaque installed on Statue

A commemorative statue depicting the Fairey Swordfish, a World War 2 aircraft built in Sherburn was erected in the village centre earlier this year. A brass plaque has now been mounted on the side of the statue explaining the history and inspiration behind the sculpture. Artist Dan Jones has been modifying his masterpiece so he can implement the plaque securely to the face of the statue, the finished result is expected last today.
