Thursday, 23rd November 2017 saw the village Christmas tree go up outside the local Methodist Church in Sherburn in Elmet.
The tree was sponsored by local manufacturers, British Gypsum who have donated over £10,000 to the local Sherburn in Elmet community so far this year.
The tree was put up by members of the Gala Association and local volunteers, pictured to the right.
On Saturday, 25th November at approximately 9:00 am, local volunteers will be gathering outside The Swan in Sherburn to help put up Christmas lights across the village. On Sunday, 26th November at 7:00 am, there will be another meetup at the White Rose Football Club to hang lights in that area of the village.

Also on Saturday, 25th November, Committee Member of The Friends of the Old Girls’ School, Myrtle will be selling Calendars for 2018 which will include a photo shoot of the Old Girls’ School being handed their cheque! Myrtle will be based at the entrance of the Sherburn in Elmet Co-op if you’d like to grab one whilst you’re there.
