Cromwell Polythene Sponsors Local Football Club

Local family run business, Cromwell Polythene has announced that they have decided to sponsor the local football club, Sherburn White Rose.

Cromwell’s Managing Director, James Lee, was keen to get involved with the local Sherburn in Elmet community and following a suggestion from a staff member associated with the club, James decided that sponsoring the team was a fantastic idea.

James Lee, who is thoroughly excited to be sponsoring the club said:

I went to visit the Sherburn White Rose Football Club with our National Accounts Director, Paul Fleetwood on Saturday.  I was really impressed with the facilities and thought that the team manager Jamie, was extremely professional and enthusiastic which was a joy to see.

Paul Fleetwood added:

Cromwell Polythene are proud to support local grass roots Junior Football.  We wish Jamie and his team at Sherburn White Rose FC all the best for the rest of the season.  It will be good to get back on the touchline to cheer everyone on.

Cromwell Polythene donated £600 for the team’s new football kits which will last them approximately two years.  In addition to this, Cromwell has also donated refuse sacks to use on game days to ensure litter can be disposed of correctly.

Cromwell Polythene is one of the UK’s premier supplier of sacks, bags and speciality products for the storage and collection of waste and recyclables.  Sustainability is at the heart of Cromwell Polythene, and the company has a keen interest in the environment.  They use recycled materials wherever possible in their product range and encourage the return of post-industrial and post-consumer plastics and other materials to the production cycle for re-processing.

The Sherburn White Rose Football Club Under 11’s Team Manager, Jamie Firn, said:

The 2017/18 season has seen this year’s under 11’s get off to a smart start thanks to the generosity of a local Sherburn business, Cromwell Polythene who have kindly sponsored the squad with a new Joma match kit.  The squad has recently grown to 22 players which has allowed a new development team to be set up, providing an idea first step into the sport, whilst giving youngsters in and around Sherburn in Elmet the opportunity to represent their area.

The support provided by local businesses like Cromwell Polythene is a vital part in the ongoing success of the club.  Assistance with kit sponsorship allows the club to continue its investment in facilities, equipment along with recognised FA training schemes for all the clubs coaches & supporting members.

The Sherburn White Rose Football Club is recruiting new players for their under 11’s team. Both under 11 teams play in the local Garforth League divisions, which see them in action against sides in and around Leeds and West Yorkshire each Sunday, putting into practice the skills and techniques they have learnt during Saturday morning training sessions.  The club welcomes all new players and has a fantastic growing junior section which supports players from the age of 5 through to 16 years old.  Beyond this, players have the opportunity to become involved within the senior section of the club.

The club is open to all players and welcomes new players for the junior section and senior section.  In addition, there is a team clubhouse with a bar, pool table and an Xbox for all to enjoy!  For more information, please click here.
