It was a brilliant night last night at the Sherburn Community Volunteer Awards, with many of Sherburn’s residents and volunteers coming to The Swan to support this brilliant award ceremony. The awards were introduced to help recognise volunteers from many great organisations in Sherburn in Elmet, some of whom have been volunteering for over 50 years. There were 7 categories where awards could be won, including the Lifetime Achievement award. Winners will be revealed shortly.
As well as the awards, £312.00 was also raised for local charity the Sophie Michelle Fund.
Many local businesses, organisations and individuals donated towards the 100 Club, which was set up to support and work alongside the gala and other community groups, to make our community a better place to live within. Thye have raised well over £2000 to support this goal. The 100 club supported this awards night.
