Sherburn Community Gymnastics Club are delighted to announce that they have been awarded a £5000 grant from the brand-new Building Futures Competition. The Competition which is supported by Persimmon Homes and Team GB was set up to support children in health, sport, education and the arts.
With the £5000 grant, the Sherburn Community Gymnastics Club will now be able to buy new equipment to coach more advanced techniques. This will help to create new opportunities for both recreational and competitive gymnasts. Amanda Alderson, Head Coach at Sherburn Community Gymnastics Club had this to say ‘We are over the moon. So excited and currently choosing new equipment. A massive thank you to Persimmon Homes.’
The Club currently run classes for gymnasts from the age of 2 to 17 years old and they teach gymnasts of all different abilities. The Club has always worked hard to keep club fees affordable so that all young people can benefit from the sport. With the money from the grant, the Club will be able to support its growing number of members and provide new opportunities for their future development.
