We have just received the following from Highways:-
“The original surfacing contract was programmed for 24th – 28th October.
On Friday 28th October it was discovered that the first 600m of surfacing had failed due to a deficiency of binder within the material. This resulted in potholing and loose chippings spreading across the extent of the work.
As a consequence and with the consideration of safety to all road users, it was decided to keep Coldhill Lane closed until the loose material had been removed and the remedial work completed.
I met with a representative on Monday 31st October and it was agreed that the remedial work and full extent of the scheme would be completed by Friday 4th November, weather permitting.
I apologise for the inconvenience.”
