A man in his 20’s from Sherburn in Elmet has been arrested after allegedly punching a paramedic in the face in York while ambulance staff were helping him.
The assault happened in Peasholme Green at around 3am on Friday 6th January.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “The suspect, a man in his 20s from Sherburn-in-Elmet, near Selby, was arrested at the time, but was taken to hospital prior to police custody due to concerns about his condition, believed to have been caused by the effects of alcohol.”
