Courses dedicated to helping our learners earn a national-recognised, GCSE equivalent qualification. This course is fully funded for all, regardless of income.
These courses were designed by adults, for adults. Almost every job requires an English & maths Level 2 qualification, and WEA can help them achieve it with no cost. We offer both Level 1 and 2, with options to progress onto another course following completion.

Support Work in Schools & Colleges
Our Support Work in Schools and Colleges (SWISC) course has helped hundreds of learners get the skills and qualifications needed to work in a school setting. With this Level 2 course, learners gain with the essential experience and knowledge necessary to work as a support worker in a range of educational environments including schools and colleges. Many of our learners have continued into employment following completion of the course.

Beginners’ Excel and Spreadsheets
Over 80% of jobs require basic digital skills. We are always running IT courses to equip our learners with the skills and experience needed to be part of the modern workforce.
This Excel course for beginners will ease learners into the wonderful world of spreadsheets. Learn digital skills to use basic formulae and auto-functions in spreadsheets. This will help them do calculations automatically instead of wasting time adding things up manually. This is useful for creating budgets or knowing how much money you spend on certain items. Any computer-based occupation will require basic knowledge of spreadsheet applications; with this course, learners will be ready for whatever comes their way.

Award in Mental Health Awareness
Level 1 mental health awareness training gives learners a broad overview of mental health issues. It can be the first step to further study in various areas. Learners are advised to progress to a Level 2 Certificate in Mental Health Awareness or Adult Social Care. This can lead to jobs working in care homes or as a mental health support worker. Our friendly and supportive tutors will advise learners on the pathways and options open to them to help them make the right choice.

Seated Yoga for All
This friendly and relaxed yoga session is designed to gently stretch the body and relax the mind in readiness for the day ahead. Even if learners can’t take part in a standing class, this beginner’s yoga course can help them gain mobility without taking a toll on their joints. Our experienced tutor will demonstrate a range of stretches for the body.
All abilities and disabilities are welcome. this course can help you reduce stiffness in your joints and learn to relax.
