The Sherburn Methodist Church is located on Church View, Sherburn behind Tesco. Our weekly church service starts at 10.45am each Sunday, followed by refreshments.
The Church is friendly and outgoing and is at the heart of the community. In term time, “Tots and You” welcomes babies and toddlers with their parents on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9.30 – 11.00 am and everyone is invited to drop in for a cuppa at our weekly coffee morning from 10.00am-12.00pm on Saturdays. We run a “Messy Church” on the second Sunday of the month at 3pm for all the family, which includes informal worship followed by crafts and activities, and ends with a meal together.
We hold regular fund-raising events to which everyone is welcome, recently including a strawberry tea , a beetle drive and a MacMillan coffee morning, and we also organise occasional short Holiday Clubs for primary aged children in school holidays.
The building is used regularly by local groups. At present it is used weekly by the Community Larder and the SVS Chat-in, and in term time is also used by the Bettany Dance Group and the Brownies.
