Selby District Council is launching a brand new 12 month project to tackle issues we know are important to residents – such as flytipping, waste, dog fouling, recycling and litter – to clean up our district.
‘Don’t be a Waster – reduce, reuse, respect’ will focus on a different issue each month and we will work with parish councils, community groups, schools and local businesses to see how we can tackle the issues together.
January is focusing on litter, February on food waste and March on flytipping.
In line with this campaign, the Parish Council and Community Association will be joining the Keep Britain Tidy Spring Clean event on Saturday 4th March. We will meet for our litter pick at 10am at the Scout Hut as usual, followed by bacon butties sponsored by Starkeys and Crusties. All equipment provided. You will be finished and fed by noon. Please come and give just 2 hours of your time to Spring Clean Sherburn.
