Sherburn in Elmet Community Gymnastic Club, which started in 2007, has now moved into its own building on the Blackburn Industrial Estate in the village.
Since its formation, it has used facilities at local high schools including Sherburn High School and also Barlby High School.
With the new building, they have their own, permanent facilities and have launched an appeal for £25,000 to provide an Olympic-standard soft floor and other equipment. At the moment, the club caters for 250 members and has a waiting list for a further 300 which the new facilities hopes to be able to cater for. Elmet Lions have donated £395 to provide new equipment such as vaulting box.
