GUISELEY have signed former Leeds United and England under-19s midfielder Simon Walton on a short-term deal – and he will go straight into caretaker manager Adam Lockwood’s squad for Saturday’s home game against Woking. The Sherburn-in-Elmet-born player, 28, was a free agent after making 37 appearances for Crawley Town in League Two last season. Walton, who made his debut for Leeds at the age of 16 in August 2004, had been helping out at NCEL side Garforth before Guiseley got in touch. His record of over 250 Football League appearances since starting out in the youth teams at Elland Road also includes stints with Charlton, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle, Hartlepool United and Stevenage.
