Elmet Lions have teamed up with Wincanton Logistics and Sainsbury’s to jointly present a cheque for £1200 to Hungate Primary School, which will provide new books and reading programme for their library.
Despite this year being a challenging one, with increased restrictions and having less people on site, both Sainsbury’s and Wincanton feel it is important to carry on the fundraising as much as they can for the community.
They have been glad to provide help for the school and are delighted that the funds are being used to provide reading books for the children. They also kindly left some biscuits and chocolates for the school to share.
Headteacher Martyn Broom received the donation along with some of their pupils stating ‘We are overwhelmed at the gratitude of both the Elmet Lions and Wincanton in supporting our children with this very kind donation. Through the purchasing of high-quality reading resources, we are sure that it will spark a further love of reading for our children.’
The representatives from Hungate School, Wincanton and Elmet Lions were joined by the Lion himself which caused a stir at the school.
