Property developer Glentrool Estates Group is transforming a 75-acre site in Sherburn-in-Elmet into a £105 million North Yorkshire business park. This new business park is set to create 2,550 jobs in the Sherburn area. The site which will be named Sherburn2 will be built next to the current Sherburn Industrial Estate.
The new business park has been said to be one of the most significant new developments to come to Yorkshire for a long time. The development is already attracting a lot of interest from potential occupants from the warehouse, manufacturing and logistic sectors. The project was kick-started with £2.95m infrastructure facility from the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership and Government’s Growing Places’ Fund. The first stage will be the construction of a bridge to the site entrance and initial infrastructure work.
No date has been set for the business park’s opening, but work is now well underway.
