Sherburn in Elmet Town Council are inviting you to the Picnic in the Park 2024 event at Eversley Park on 13th July 2024 that will run between noon and 7:30pm when live music and family entertainment is to be enjoyed. This spectacular event is free to enter with free rides and activities and if you’re the lucky winner of the programme raffle draw you will win a £100 prize.
The event is financed by Sherburn in Elmet Town Council, starts at noon and continues through the afternoon and into early evening. This years’ headline act “Flash”, is a “Queen” tribute band and was described by the BBC as being “as near as it gets to the real thing” will be performing Queen’s classic tracks.
Supporting Flash are some fantastic bands: the ska band “Badness” playing the iconic music of Madness, The Specials and Bad Manners: “Mojos”, a local band, playing a unique blend of rock n roll, pop, funk, Indie and modern anthems: “Remember Hillards”, a local 80’s music party band: and “Mamas Feelgood”, a funk and soul band from York.
This year’s family entertainment combines a mixture of the old favourites with some new attractions that will appeal to all ages and it’s all free. So this year why not try your hand at “axe throwing,” “archery” or “target paintballing”. Returning this year will be the ever popular – “Ian’s Mobile Farm”, with a collection of miniature farm animals, pets etc: the “Funfair”, with a selection of children’s rides: the “Climbing Wall” which is not just for children, so have a go; and similarly, the “drum for fun workshop”, so come and join in and have some fun, it won’t cost you a penny. (Note; face painting- charges apply).
This is a picnic event, so bring with you, your food, drink, picnic chairs/tables etc. and have a fun afternoon. There will be several “food and drink stalls” on the field should you fancy something different (charges will apply), but please note there are no alcohol providers. You’re welcome to bring your own drink but please drink sensibly. (Note: glassware, tents and awnings are not permitted on the field). Well behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a short lead at all times and please clean up after your pets and use the bins provided.
Limited parking will be available for “Blue Badge” holders ‘only’ at the Eversley Park Centre Car Park.
