Children and Sherburn High school have recently being working with rugby league stars from Castleford Tigers. As part of the recent ‘Try Sport’ project at school, Castleford Tiger players and coaches visited the school hosting a ‘Tiger Takeover Day’ for over 150 pupils.
The day was said to be a fantastic day, enjoyed by all that took part, pupils, staff and the players. The Tigers Trust team were knowledgeable and enthusiastic which help the students get a taste of the many skills and benefits of being involved in rugby. All the students left with a smile on their face, and ready to use their new skills in their rugby lessons.
For many of the students, this was their first time playing rugby, but the school and the Tiger hope that now they have experience rugby, they will want to continue getting involved in the sport. First team star Paul McShane also present sports equipment to the school to use during PE lessons and after school clubs.
