As many of you may know the Cawood Craft Fayre was held for the last time earlier this year. The Fayre was a much loved event by many, and it is a great shame that it will no longer be around. Sherburn have decided to adopt the popular event and hold it in the village.
Sherburn in Elmet proposes to hold a 3 day event next August bank holiday 2017, called the Sherburn Craft and Food Festival. This will be a huge event for the village with up to 150 stalls, live entertainment, food stalls, dog shows, a children’s’ play area and much more. After the huge success of Sherburn Cycle Saturday which was held during the Tour De Yorkshire, we have great hopes for this event.
This project has the backing of the Parish and District Councils, but they are in need of support from local residents and businesses. The parish council are hoping to have events covering several areas of the village and if it is successful this will become an annual event – but this cannot happen without your help.
The council are holding a meeting at Eversley Park Centre on Tuesday 4th October at 7.30pm, where they will be happy to receive the feedback and any other ideas from Sherburn residents and business owners, on how they can make this event a huge success.
Everyone is welcome to the meeting, and the council would like to invite you all to join them to create a fantastic event which the village can be proud of.
