The Sherburn Visiting Scheme is a local charity aimed towards supporting seniors within Sherburn in Elmet and the surrounding areas. Each year, the charity holds an annual general meeting to go over various agenda items pertaining to the charity.
This year, Sherburn Visiting Scheme have announced they are looking for people to join the Trustees Management Committee as well as a Treasurer to help the charity continue.
The annual general meeting will be held at the Sherburn Methodist Church on Monday, May 14th at 2:00 pm, everyone is welcome to attend.
What does Sherburn Visiting Scheme do?
Sherburn Visiting Scheme provides a wide number of services and activities for the elderly in Sherburn in Elmet and the surrounding areas. From medical transport to meals delivered directly to their door, to door to door shopping trips and planned days out, the Sherburn Visiting Scheme provides an essential service for local elderly residents. Without the help and support of their volunteers, they would not be able to operate the charity.

Interested in becoming a volunteer?
The scheme is becoming under increasing pressure due to the increased number of people using the service and the retirement of long-standing volunteers. The need for new volunteers and drivers is essential for the service to continue. If you can help by giving a small amount of your time to help transport people, attend weekly activities to help cook or make cups of tea, please contact the office on 01977 681 828 for further details.
