On 1st April 2023, team members from Zzoomm, the local Full Fibre broadband provider, construct the Community Garden for South Milford, in partnership with Incredible Edible South Milford 2023.
Currently a disused patch of land, the Community Garden was featured six large planters and fencing which will be available for the whole village to use. The timber is supplied by local Timber Merchant Atkinson’s Timber Yard at a reduced rate and paid for by Zzoomm. Local Zzoomm team members have volunteered to construct the Community Garden.
Zzoomm have now completed their 4,000+ home & business Full Fibre broadband network build across Sherburn-in-Elmet. South Milford is now one of many towns & villages across Yorkshire that have access to gigafast Full Fibre broadband provided by Zzoomm.
Incredible Edible was founded in 2008 with the belief that people have the power to create places they are proud of. The South Milford group is kickstarting the 2023 growing season with a brand-new Community Garden, a place for the community they can all be proud of.
The construction of the Community Garden is part of Incredible Edible South Milford 2023. With Incredible Edible’s vision to create kind, confident and connected communities through the power of food they are the perfect partner for Zzoomm as one of the first ‘Connecting Communities’ projects from the Full Fibre broadband provider.
Local volunteers and children at a nearby childcare facility ‘Kim’s Kiddiecabin’ are currently growing various fruits and vegetables for the garden, looking to plant them in the coming weeks.
Construction will take place on Saturday 1st April from 9 am, with representatives from Zzoomm Full Fibre broadband and Incredible Edible South Milford.
The Community Garden is located behind the Swan Hotel. Low Street, South Milford, LS25 5AR on land owned by the Swan Hotel and for use by Incredible Edible South Milford.
