About the event:
The annual charity rugby tournament Scrapper’s Cup returns for the ninth edition on 27th July at Sherburn Bears Eversley Park, Sherburn in Elmet in loving memory of the local hero Steve ‘Scrapper’ Carter MBE raising essential funds for Mind.
Over the years we have raised nearly £30k for British charities Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, British Forces Foundation, Sophie Michelle’s Fund, British Heart Foundation MacMillan, The Salvation Army and Life for Kid.
The host team Scrapper’s Select will go head to head with the Life for a Kid, Rugby League All Stars captained by super league legends Wayne Godwin alongside Adrian Morley who will be defending their title from last year.
As always, Leeds Rhinos SUPER STAR Jamie Jones-Buchanan will join us to emcee the tournament and bring an unmissable commentary throughout the day.
Scrapper’s Cup is not just about the rugby, the event offers a great day out for all the family, from photo ops with Ronnie the Rhino, entertainment from the BLDC dance squad, bouncy castles, a raffle and a delicious, mouth watering hog roast catered by the fabulous Hog Roast Yorkshire.
Post Scrapper’s Cup we then head to the Swan on Sherburn’s Highstreet for the popular auction when unmissable sports memorabilia is up for grabs.
