In the last week there have been a number of similar incidents been reported from around the village.
On Monday evening there had been a break in to some outbuildings off Finkle Hill resulting in damage to toilet facilities, water pipes turned off and evidence of someone trying to start a fire. Midweek a report emerged of similar break in’s at other properties off Finkle Hill. This weekend a further report of damage to the village Scout Hut including pipe damage, fire and in addition some graffiti to the building’s exterior. Police have been informed and have retrieved evidence, these crimes are under investigation by North Yorkshire Police.
Sherburn residents are urged to contact the police on 101 if they have seen or heard anything or have been victims of similar crimes. Anything suspicious should be reported to assist the police with their investigations.
