Back in October last year, we informed local residents that Sherburn’s Domino’s Pizza had received advertising consent from the local council for the installation of two illuminated signs and logos to be installed on the vacant HSBC building.
This comes after planning permission was granted in March 2017 for Domino’s to turn the old bank into a new pizza takeaway despite the numerous objections from local residents.
As a result, we assumed that plans were still going forward and we would expect to see refurbishment work commence early 2018 with a view of the new takeaway to be open in Sherburn in Elmet by 2019.
The UK’s leading pizza group are already starting work on the building (as pictured above) as residents have witnessed the building being emptied out, ready for refurbishment works to commence. However, Domino’s are still keeping their cards close to their chest, refusing to confirm an official opening date.
