Back in November 2017, we wrote an article stating that the Sherburn Bears Rugby Club will be using Section 106 money to have the building refurbished. The clubhouse is situated on the Eversley Park field, next to the newly installed outdoor gym equipment.
The Sherburn Bears have played on the pitch at Eversley Park since the 1960’s and have rugby teams for adults as well as children.
The planning application for the refurbishment and extension of the clubhouse has been submitted to the council, and the club is eagerly awaiting approval.
The refurbishment will see the clubhouse get a much-needed extension, giving them room for a new kitchen area for game days and a place for parents to wait during training. Also, the club will have the two existing changing rooms wholly refurbished, bringing them up to date and install a referee’s changing area and an accessible toilet.
The date for the refurbishment has not yet been confirmed.
